		<description>I use screen on a regular basis but to open an application from terminal but leave the same terminal window open for new commands. that way you don&#039;t bind your terminal to that app which will force you to close the app to release the terminal. The command is &quot;$ screen -d -m &quot;. Like: screen -d -m gedit notes.txt</description>
